Coram/CVS Health is looking for a meticulous Purchasing professional to join our team. This rewarding opportunity allows you to work closely with our Pharmacy team where you will gain experience in the growing home health/home infusion field. At Coram, we believe that the Purchasing Assistant is a key part of maintaining organization in our branches, therefore creating a positive experience for our patients.

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will:
Processes all purchase orders by compiling necessary information and records to prepare for procurement of materials.
Ensures purchase order codes are accurate.
Verifies specifications of purchase requests.
Writes or types up purchase orders.
Sends copy of purchase order to corporate office or orders products by telephone. May compare prices, delivery dates and specifications of various suppliers.
Ensures appropriate departments receive necessary copies of purchase orders.
Verifies invoices from suppliers.
Ensures materials are delivered in required time frame.
Contacts suppliers concerning late deliveries.
Notifies supervisor when materials have been received.
Returns incorrect, old and obsolete stock to vendors.
Reviews inventory records and warehouse to determine if materials in stock are in sufficient quantity.
Notifies supervisor when stock levels are low.
Maintains contact with other branches.
Ensures stock levels in branches are in sufficient quantity.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Typical work hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with an opportunity for over-time based on business need. This is a full-time, permanent career that offers excellent Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, a competitive 401k, and additional benefits.

Required Qualifications
Minimum one year of related experience.
Effective verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to function independently.

Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare experience

Education
Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
