Job Description
This position involves basic academic office procedures of meeting the public, working in a support role with faculty and other administrative staff, answering the phone, responding to general email inquiries, fielding general-interest questions about the program and classes, assisting with program events and activities, designing flyers, event planning, content creation for digital signage, helping to maintain the program office, performing select office tasks for the program director, faculty, and office manager.   The successful candidate will also be willing to undertake a variety of tasks.

Work Schedule

Required Qualifications
  1. KU student in good standing
  2. Experience with MS Office Suite
  3. Ability to work 8-10 hours per week on a regular schedule
  4. During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)

$7.65/hour

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Previous experience working in an office environment
  2. Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat DC
  3. Experience designing flyers, event planning, digital content creation for social media and websites
  4. Must have a good work ethic and be self-driven to complete assigned tasks
  5. Excellent communication and customer service skills as demonstrated by application materials and interview
